4. HIPAA and Protected Health Information

To the extent that NuvaMed is a "covered entity" or "business associate" under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), we handle Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA's Privacy Rule and Security Rule. Your PHI will only be used or disclosed as permitted by HIPAA and as described in this policy.

Your health information is shared with your treating physician and, upon prescription, with our partnered licensed compounding pharmacies solely for treatment purposes.

  • Independent licensed physicians for the purpose of evaluating and treating you
  • Licensed compounding pharmacies for prescription fulfillment
  • Payment processors (Stripe) for secure transaction handling
  • Email service providers (Resend) for sending confirmations and communications
  • Law enforcement or regulatory authorities when required by law

6. Data Security

We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL), access controls, and secure database storage. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
